We recognize the value of AI tools and support their responsible use

If you choose to use AI during your application process, we ask that you do so thoughtfully and transparently. Below, you’ll find guidance on when and how AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or others) may or may not be appropriate during our hiring process.

When Applying (Resume, Application Questions) Use AI to polish how you describe your work, check clarity, or organize your resume. Asking AI to create fake experience, titles, or achievements. “Review my application to Mitek. Suggest ways to better highlight my relevant experience with financial security, fraud prevention, and identity verification.” We want to see your real story; AI can help you tell it more clearly, not rewrite it.
Take-Home or Skills Assessments Use AI to support your preparation, such as brainstorming, organizing your ideas, or proofreading, unless otherwise specified in the application instructions. Do not rely on AI to complete assessments or generate deliverables on your behalf, unless explicitly permitted in the instructions. “Provide feedback on if my statements are clear and easy to understand.” We’re assessing how you think, and what your ideas are, not what AI thinks you should say.
Preparing for Interviews Use AI to research Mitek, automation trends, and practice your stories or responses. Use AI to learn about Mitek’s mission, products, and team culture. Copying AI-written answers or using AI scripts during interviews. “Summarize Mitek’s ‘about us’ page and how artificial intelligence impacts the hiring process.” We value your authentic experience and perspective, not generic responses. AI can support your preparation, but your story and insights should remain uniquely yours.
During live Interviews Absolutely no use of AI is permitted during live interviews, unless it is a required part of a skills presentation. Using AI in real time (e.g., prompts, voice changers, AI-generated visuals, or off-camera coaching).  — Live interviews give us insight into how you think, approach challenges, and engage with others. Collaboration, curiosity, and authentic communication are fundamental to how we work at Mitek; qualities that technology can support, but never replace.

  • Draft job descriptions
  • Ensure consistency in screening resumes, with human input
  • Conduct initial screening conversations that allow candidates to share more than what is captured on their resume, with all results reviewed by recruiters and final decisions always made by people
  • Generate interview transcripts
  • Identify patterns in recruiting metrics and workflows
