Mitek, a global leader in image capture, digital identity verification, and mobile banking solutions, is seeking a Cloud Operations Specialist to join our global CloudOps team based out of our San Diego, California headquarters. You will be responsible for ensuring a high level of service continuity and reliability across our SaaS products suite and critical cloud infrastructure. You will also be responsible for responding to incidents and requests raised from system monitoring, escalations, or from internal users of the Mitek Cloud Operations team in a 24x7x365 environment.

What You'll Bring (Job Qualifications)

  • At least one year of experience in software development, cloud engineering, cloud systems management, cloud network operations, or a NOC/Network Operations Center/SysAdmin role with a strong desire to learn cloud-based systems
  • Basic abilities to write scripts in Bash and/or Python
  • Experience with system and application health monitoring and alerting such as Grafana, Zabbix, ElasticSearch, Nagios, or Kibana
  • Working knowledge of network and routing concepts
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems administration
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (Sunday-Wednesday 7:00am-5:00pm Pacific Time or Wednesday-Saturday 7:00am-5:00pm Pacific Time)

Nice To Have (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Professional experience with AWS, Google Cloud, and/or Microsoft Azure
  • AWS, Linux, or Microsoft certifications
  • Understanding of Software Change Management, Production Incident Management, Problem Management, System & Application Monitoring, and Logging
  • Experience with REST API’s and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Kanban or other agile processes
  • Understanding of cloud computing and hybrid model

What You'll Do (Job Duties)

  • Monitor and respond to incidents of relating to all Mitek SaaS Products and Critical services.
  • Escalate incidents and issues, and take ownership of the escalation process, outside of the Application Operations Team.
  • Assist in implementing, modifying, and tuning application monitoring based on Cloud Engineering or Software Engineering recommendations.
  • Assist with production deployments and system upgrades.
  • Monitor systems and applications to proactively identify problems and perform periodical health checks.
  • Communicate problem and incident management updates to impacted business users including action taken to resolve.
  • Provide responses to internal customers' trouble, request, or break/fix tickets in a timely fashion and in compliance with NOC standards and Cloud Operations team.
  • Assist in implementing, modifying, and tuning application monitoring based on Cloud Engineering or Software Engineering recommendations.
  • Provide support for root cause analysis and preventative analysis of incidents.
  • Ownership of Incident Management lifecycle during and after incidents including war-room management.
