What You’ll Do (Role Description)

The People Operations Lead will partner with the EMEA leadership team, functional and geographic leaders to develop and execute people operations strategies, policies and programs to achieve the growth and people related goals in coordination with the company’s overall short and long-term business and people operations plans. He/she will partner with the VP and Managing Director, EMEA and support the leadership team in all people operations matters including assisting in developing an organization that quickly adapts to the changing business environment. The People Operations Lead will design and implement business-related initiatives involving organizational design, recruitment, leadership development, talent management, cost management, employee relations and labor relations. 

This person will oversee all people operations matters for operations in EMEA (with office locations specifically in Amsterdam, Barcelona and London) and manages a people operations specialist. This person will report directly to the head of global people operations based in San Diego, California. 


  • Accountable for defining, developing and implementing strategic people operations initiatives in support of the business plans
  • Directs the region’s recruiting and development activities to ensure compliance with all local legal regulations and the company’s long and short-term objectives
  • Identifies and implements cost-effective, time-sensitive talent acquisition strategies to recruit qualified candidates and build a talent pipeline for all open positions
  • Ensures people operations policies and practices are consistent with the company’s purpose statements and core values
  • Partners with the leadership team to implement effective communication strategies, rewards programs and effective employee relations plans
  • Partners with the head of people operations team as well as corporate legal staff to address associate-related legal issues
  • Directs the design and implementation of development programs for the region
  • Supports the global people operations strategy and regional business plan by developing, implementing and monitoring the people operations planning processes to ensure leadership continuity and a continued supply of high talent team members
  • Continuously reviews strengths and weaknesses of management to identify specific skills required to continue in a leadership capacity
  • Maintains awareness and knowledge of key human resources issues, laws and methods while coaching and training managers and staff in key areas
  • Ensure that Mitek’s global HRIS system is maintained and effectively used within the organization
  • Provides regional and corporate management with key people operations metrics to assist them in effectively managing the organization

What You Need (Skills/Experience/Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Business or related field required – Master’s preferred
  • Broad HR generalist background within a variety of role
  • Experience working across multiple countries is desired – Spain, Netherlands and the UK would be ideal
  • Experience working in the software industry and/or high-tech is greatly preferred 
  • 10+ experience in human resources in progressively senior roles is required
  • Willingness to travel within the region and occasionally internationally up to 25% of the time is required
  • Fluency in English and Dutch is required. Spanish language skills are also preferred, but not required
