Image processing
Mitek's deep experience in image enhancement maximizes both human and machine readability. Prior to recognition, ImageNet Data Capture™:
- Straightens and crops the page.
- Registers (aligns) data fields.
- Removes lines, borders, backgrounds and unwanted text.
- Repairs Broken Characters.
- Separates Touching Characters.
Broadening the Scope of Document Processing
Many business processes involve a mix of both structured and unstructured documents. For example, mortgage processing requires a structured application form, an unstructured contract and dozens of other document types. These documents don't look alike but they may have many common data elements, such as a loan number or the borrower's name. Now data can be extracted automatically in this scenario using a single toolkit.
How it works
ImageNet Data Capture leverages Mitek's 15 years of image analytics leadership. It extracts data from any type of document by searching for application-specific keywords, the pattern of a data field (e.g., Social Security Number) or both. It can find key words or patterns even if various document designs place the fields in different locations.
Key words and patterns are specified during creation of a document description file, which ImageNet Data Capture uses during its search for data fields. After field locations and data types are identified (e.g. machine text), it recognizes and returns the data.
