Over a billion cell phones are shipped worldwide annually, most of which have built-in cameras. Mitek created IMagePROVE by utilizing its proprietary pattern recognition software that identifies and reads typed or hand written characters and numbers on documents, forms and checks.

Mitek has utilized IMagePROVE to create applications that will help consumers and business people automate tedious, everyday tasks. It's flagship Oomph product, Mobile Deposit™, is the first mobile banking software application that allows banks to accept paper check deposits and bill payments via camera-equipped mobile phones. With Mobile Deposit, Mitek extends convenient deposit capabilities to millions of consumers who use camera-equipped mobile phones. In addition, Mitek has developed and markets Mobile Receipt™, an expense management applications that creates expense reports with a single touch, and Mobile Phax™, a document sharing application that replaces traditional fax machines.
